The National Economics University expands cooperation with universities in Australia and New Zealand
From November 28, 2022, to December 8, 2022, the delegation of National Economics University, led by Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, President of the School, visited and worked at Macquire University, Griffith University, the Australian National University (Australia), and the University of Waikato (New Zealand). Members of the delegation also included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Dinh Bao, Head of Personnel and Organization Department; Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh, Head of Scientific Management Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi, Director of the Institute of International Trade and Economics; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Truong Hoang, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality; and Dr. Luong Thu Ha, Deputy Director of the Training Institute of Advanced Program; along with some teachers representing departments, faculties, institutes, and centers of the university.

At the meeting with leaders of Macquire University, the delegation signed a cooperation agreement to transfer three advanced programs: finance, international business administration, and accounting, in the form of a 2.5 + 1 program. At the same time, the two sides discussed and considered developing a 2+2+1 model to obtain a double degree or a master’s degree in business analysis and finance and the 2.5+1+1 model of getting a double degree or a master’s degree in finance and international business and discussing the exchange of lecturers soon.

At the meeting with leaders of Griffith University, the delegation signed an agreement for the next 5 years before the old agreement expires in January 2023; signed a transfer agreement for POHE students majoring in Hotel Management and Travel Management under the 2+2 model; signed a preferential agreement for students who have graduated to study for a Master’s degree (20-25% reduction of tuition fees for all students of Advanced, High Quality, and POHE Programs; exemption from 2-4 modules depending on the discipline); and collaborated to organize 1 section of the CIEMB 2023 international conference in Australia. On the same day, the delegation visited and worked with Griffith University – Goldcoast Campus.
The delegation exchanged and worked with the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University on cooperation in scientific research
At the meeting with leaders of Crawford School of Public Policy – Australian National University, the two sides discussed cooperation in scientific research; CIEMB organization (CIEMB 2023 co-organizer has at least 1 section hosted at ANU). Also during this visit, on the morning of December 5, 2022, the delegation attended the Vietnam-New Zealand Education Cooperation Forum organized by the Ministry of Education and Training under the chair of the President of the National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue, at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. On the same day, the delegation had a meeting and exchange with leaders of the University of Waikato and exchanged cooperation agreements between the two universities.

Within the framework of the visit and work, the delegation of the National Economics University was very solemnly welcomed by the leaders of the schools. After directly visiting the training facilities of the units, the two sides exchanged and discussed openly, and together they signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in training, the exchange of students and lecturers, research cooperation, and sharing expertise. The visit and working visit of the university delegation to Australia and New Zealand ended successfully, opening up many cooperation opportunities between the parties and thereby continuing to affirm the position and prestige of the University of Economics and Business in the national economy in terms of training and scientific research for the past 66 years.
